——观特纳油画有感

他们把黑人像一网鱼,装入船舱
黑人是那么驯服
沉默成了黑人安慰自己的口香糖
身上的脂肪,成了熬过航程的唯一希望
还有那么多的黑人,像鱼饵
被抛入大海,用血的光芒
照亮海水,直到鲨鱼的唇上
沾满黑人的临终遗言
假如我也是黑奴,必定会重复
那种尖叫的命运,我的皮
也一定是黑夜的皮,我的血
也一定是美术馆中最贵的血
但在鲨鱼休战之前,我只能幻想
爬出那排牙齿的铁栅
观完《运奴船》,我也试着
掂一掂自己的命运。我恍然大悟——
自己已是城市的黑奴
在欲望休战之前,已没有谁能帮我

Slave Ship

They boarded Africa onto the ship, like a net of fish
The slaves seemed docile
Chewing silence like bubblegum
Their body fat was the only hope to survive this sea fare
And so many of them were tossed
Like baits, into the waves
Their blood lit up the sea, their cries
Hung on the jaws of sharks
If I were a slave, would I repeat
That screaming destiny, my skin
Darker than night, my blood
Reaching the highest bid in a museum?
As sharks finish their feeding frenzy
I can only imagine crawling through the steel fence’s teeth
After the “Slave Ship,” I try to weigh my own fate–
How heavy it is. And I realize
I have been a slave to the city
Nobody can save me from the war of desire
Huang Fan (Chinese:黃凡) is a contemporary Taiwanese writer, born in 1950. He grew up in a family dependents community, like many people from Mainland China who arrived with Chiang Kai-shek in 1949. His educational background is in engineering. He is now a professional writer. His fiction is urbane and often experimental in technique.
